A 77s come an American Rock_band consisting of Michael Roe on lead guitar, Mark Harmon on bass and Bruce Spencer on drums. In the mid 1980's, Aaron Smith played drums for the band.
A band, originally known as A Scratch Band, was formed in the late 1970s in Sacramento, California by Roe, and keyboardist Mark Tootle, bassist Jan Eric Volz and drummer Mark Proctor. Guitar player Jimmy A and singer Sharon McCall also performed with a band now and then.
A band changed their title to a 77s by owning the release of their number 1 album, Ping Pong above a Abysm, around 1982. Ping Pong was further of the Scratch Band recording than an actual 77s recording all the same. 1 song from either that album, "Renaissance Man", was late recorded by The Ocean Blue. Monitor left a b& and was replaced by previous drummer for The Temptations, Aaron Smith. A band's large hit lone was "The Lust, The Flesh, The Eyes and the Pride of Life" from either their 1987 Island Records release, The 77s. (Years late, a band 311 would even borrow two or three lines from either a song for one of their have singles). Tootle & Volz left a band in the late 80s. The survive album 88 & the collection of b-sides & surrogate recordings known as Sticks & Stones were freed within 1990.
A band's song "MT" was featured the total of days on the popular television series Melrose Place.
In the early 1990s, Roe reformed the band by having Smith, adding bassist Mark Harmon and guitarist David Leonhardt, both erstwhile of The Strawmen. This version of the band freed the pair of albums for Word Records: A Seventy-Sevens 1992 (a.k.the. Pray Naked - this title was dropped per record label) & a critically acclaimed Drowning by owning Land around Sight 1994. Leonhardt & Smith would leave a band later. Drummer Bruce Spencer, formerly of Vector was brought on board to fill Smith's vacancy.
Per prevent of the 1990s, the 77s formed their have record label, Fools of the World and re-issued many of their older albums. When of 2002 the 77s continue to record & tour heavy.
